Responsibilities
Performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structures, providing quality images for interpretation.
Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.
Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
Ensures equipment is properly functioning; reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel; lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
Ensures prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, labeling, patient data/history).
Maintains a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Completion of a Sonography program.
Experience: No experience required.
Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) specialty; Or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) as appropriate.
Required Professional License and/or Certifications: State(s) of practice include Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin.
Education & Certifications
Completion of a Sonography program
RDMS/OB-GYN or RDMS/Abdomen or ARDMS certifications; or CCI equivalent
CPR/BLS required
