Position Overview Foth is seeking a
Lead Water Resources Engineer
focused on technical delivery, mentorship, and discipline development across diverse civil engineering projects. In this role you will develop the water resources technical vision, lead complex design and analysis, and build collaborative relationships with clients and partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Support and develop the technical vision for the water resources discipline in cooperation with the Water Technical Competency Leader
Establish, implement, and continuously improve discipline‑specific standard work, training programs, and QA/QC systems
Lead technical engineering project designs and reports focused on storm‑water management, watershed planning, modeling analysis, green infrastructure, and best management practices
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage channel design, erosion and sediment control, and floodplain modeling
Perform stream and wetland restoration designs and water‑quality studies
Develop technical water‑resources reports for local, state, and federal agencies
Conduct watershed and storm‑water management planning
Prepare design plans, specifications, and bid documents for storm‑water, drainage, and water‑quality construction projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a project manager or technical producer in water‑resources engineering consulting
Proficiency with storm‑water modeling software (e.g., HEC‑RAS, HydroCAD, XPSWMM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS)
Ability to travel 10‑20% for client visits and conferences
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Floodplain Manager Accreditation
Minimum of 15 years of experience that included leading technical teams and hands‑on engineering with design, reports, and feasibility studies for water‑resources projects

Compensation & Benefits The base compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 a year. Compensation may vary based on experience, location, responsibility level, and licenses/certifications. In addition to base pay, Foth members may receive bonuses through our Earned Performance Incentive program, on‑the‑spot bonuses, and quarterly/annual bonuses. Full‑time and part‑time members are eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance, employee assistance, disability, retirement, holiday pay, paid time off, and other voluntary benefits.
