CareFlite is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ambulance service sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Health, JPS Health Network, Methodist Health System, Parkland, and Texas Health Resources. CareFlite provides medical transport by helicopter, airplane, and ground ambulance, and non-medical transport via wheelchair van.
Job Description
Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications of CareFlite ambulances to ensure street worthiness on a 24/7 basis. Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks and services on all fleet vehicles to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment and manual techniques. Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension parts. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, and manage inventory of parts and supplies. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or parts procurement when necessary. Respond to roadside emergencies and perform on-site repairs when possible. Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in the maintenance facility. Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance activities with minimal service disruption. Participate in the evaluation and selection of new vehicles and equipment for the fleet. Demonstrate commitment to CareFlite's mission and core values, adapting to evolving technologies and maintenance practices in the automotive and emergency services industries. Qualifications
Valid Light duty ASE and Preventative Maintenance Certifications preferred High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledgeable of maintenance requirements for the various chassis CareFlite operates. Two years of maintenance experience on appropriate type of chassis operated. Experience in supporting 24-hour EMS ambulance operations preferred. Proficient English language skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain tact and diplomacy skills in high stress situations. Knowledge of fleet maintenance procedures. Knowledge of appropriate use of tools used for fleet maintenance procedures. Additional Information
