Our client, a dynamic organization in the finance and accounting industry, is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team. As a Tax Accountant, you will be part of the Finance Department supporting the Tax Compliance team. The ideal candidate will have detail-oriented skills, strong analytical abilities, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Tax Accountant
Location: Omaha, NE
Pay Range: $55,000 - $57,000 annually
What's the Job?
Prepare sales and use tax returns for all US states to ensure compliance with state laws.
Assist in preparing Canadian GST/HST/PST/QST returns and commercial rent tax returns for New York City agencies.
Support the preparation of annual reports and miscellaneous business tax filings.
Maintain and update tax systems such as Vertex and Diagnostax, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with external auditors and manage unclaimed property reporting and escheatment processes.
What's Needed?
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; MBA or CPA designation is a plus.
1-3 years of accounting experience.
Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
