Mechanical Engineer III-IV
in Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA. This role focuses on mechanical design and project management for highly technical buildings, helping grow our client base while supporting a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Job Responsibilities
Create basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for projects of all sizes.
Represent Syska Hennessy Group and effectively interact with the internal design team, external clients, and consultants—including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, and vendors.
Coordinate with other disciplines and work closely with the entire design team (architectural and engineering, internal and external).
Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work.
Assist the Senior Engineer in preparing due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings using CAD/REVIT.
Maintain drawing organization format and company standards.
Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments.
Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics.
Job Requirements
Strong REVIT and MEP skills from mark‑ups through detailed drawing production with basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements.
Experience with trade‑specific design and calculation software, including energy analysis tools such as eQuest, Trace, etc.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
3.5–7+ years of relevant MEP experience in Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission‑Critical projects.
Proficiency with the latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT.
Basic understanding of proper system selection and applicable codes.
FE certification (required).
Experience in Mission‑Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare, and interest in Project Management (highly preferred).
