Job Summary The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, invites applications for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of General Psychiatry. Applicants must have completed a residency in Psychiatry and be either board‑certified or board‑eligible in General Psychiatry. The selected candidate must be eligible for licensure in Georgia and will provide attending physician services and resident/fellow supervision at outpatient clinics in the department.
Responsibilities
Provide general psychiatry services through the outpatient clinic in Wellstar MCG Health, with or without learners present.
Attend 80% of departmental meetings and grand rounds.
Maintain licensure in Georgia.
Required Qualifications
MD, DO, MBBS, or foreign equivalent.
Assistant Professor – early‑career faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
Associate Professor – mid‑career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor (or comparable).
Professor – senior‑career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor (or comparable).
Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation.
Evidence of ability as a teacher.
Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
Successful experience (waived for those just entering the profession who meet all other requirements).
Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
Fellowship in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).
Shift / Salary / Benefits Fiscal year based and works year‑round. Full‑time (FTE 1.0). Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds.
