Pay Range RN $36.00 - $39.53 per hour depending on experience plus shift differential

Pay Range LPN: $30.00 - $33.26 per hour depending on experience plus shift differential

Position Summary:

This position provides direct nursing care to residents and delegates and supervises the care provided by our Quality‑of‑Life Specialists/Resident Assistants.

Primary Responsibilities:

Receive and give report at shift change for LPN/RN and CNA. Make Rounds. Report all deficiencies to the Director of Nursing.

Count and sign off on narcotics at the beginning and the end of shift.

Pass medications, documenting on Medication Administration Record (MAR), and notifies Director of Nursing of any incomplete documentation.

Apply treatments, lotions, dressings, etc. as needed, documenting in treatment record.

Document on residents per protocol.

Notify family and physicians of change in resident condition and as necessary.

Monitor dining room during meals, ensuring all necessary staff are present.

Replenish supplies for the medicine cart, medicine room and resident rooms. If there is a shortage, orders through central supply personnel.

Qualifications:

Must have valid NC or compact state LPN/RN license with no substantial findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident property.

Minimum of 3 months’ experience as a LPN/RN preferably with elderly care.

Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.

Ability to observe changes in resident’s condition and act accordingly.

Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tact and courtesy in dealing with employees, residents, family, visitors and volunteers.

Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.

Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and to coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care.

Ability to recognize problems, make decisions and solve problems.

Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situation.
