LifeCare Medical Center, the employer of choice, has a dynamic opportunity for the right individual as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This position is the front line, close connection to our patients. The successful candidate will assist the Occupational Therapist in a medically prescribed program in which selected purposeful activity is used as treatment in the rehabilitation of persons with a disability. Full‑time position is available.

Essential Functions

Assists the therapist in client evaluation, assessing client’s capabilities.

Maintains accurate, up‑to‑date initial, progress and discharge notes regularly.

Carrying out direct patient treatment under the supervision of the OTR, demonstrating knowledge of diagnosis, treatment procedures & modalities, & treatment precautions.

Supplies new ideas and assists in construction of supportive, productive and/or adaptive devices and equipment.

Assists in the maintenance of equipment, tools, supplies and inventory.

Assists in carrying out efficient operation of the department in regards to charges, records and schedules.

Assists in developing and carrying out new programs & treatments.

Demonstrates support and understanding of association policies & procedures.

Cares for patients according to growth and development: Neonates, pediatrics, adolescents and geriatrics.

Qualifications

Associate Degree from an accredited 2‑year Occupational Therapy school.

Currently holding or eligible for certification and National (NBCOT) Registration.

Registration with Minnesota Department of Health required.
