Northwest Specialty Hospital Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer adult behavioral health services, expanding our current 50‑and‑older program to provide care for all adults 18 years and older. Patients will receive individualized care plans that include individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24‑hour secure, compassionate environment. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists.

Job Summary This full‑time CNA opportunity consists of 36 hours per week, offers full benefits, and a convenient night shift schedule. The CNA will provide safe and competent nursing assistant care for patients and professional support to the healthcare team, operating under the Patient‑Centered Care philosophy and Service Excellence standards.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

Complete bedside shift reports at the beginning and end of each shift; ensure patients see the names and contact numbers of the care team on the communication board.

Meet with the supervising RN at the start of each shift to receive task delegation.

Involve patients and families in psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population‑specific, and diversity needs in care.

Follow facility policies and procedures to promote patient safety (e.g., safe environment, equipment safety practices, radiation safety, fire prevention).

Adhere to fall precautions and assist patients with toileting/ADL care while never leaving them alone; if assistance is needed, the CNA is able to ask/call or help while remaining with the patient.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited C.N.A. program.

Current Nevada C.N.A. license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
