Overview
Our client, a Public Accounting firm located in Waltham, MA, is looking for a Tax Accountant to join their firm. The position is responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring all federal and state income tax returns are prepared timely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable laws.
Compensation Compensation:
$100,000-120,000 * *Listed not guaranteed – potential offers vary based on experience level, qualifications, and internal equity and may be outside of this range.
Responsibilities
Tax return preparation: Prepare corporate, fiduciary, gift, individual, partnership, and private foundation tax returns, including work papers and lead sheets; prepare tax projections and related estimated payments; analyze client information and offer recommendations for reducing client tax liabilities; perform tax research.
Conduct tax audits and assist in the preparation of audit responses, supporting schedules, and documentation, as well as tax provision calculations and related disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
General accounting for client business to be used in preparing income tax returns, including preparation of trial balances and related adjusting journal entries; preparing deposits and disbursement requests.
Requirements
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in public accounting.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree in taxation or a CPA license is preferred.
Excellent knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong reconciliation and analysis skills.
Must be a team player and be willing to work over‑time (including weekends) when necessary.
Meticulous attention to detail.
