Lead Electrical Hardware Engineer – Controls Join GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions team as a Lead Electrical Hardware Engineer – Controls. In this role you will own the design of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) products including Utility SVC, STATCOM, Fixed Series Compensation, and Synchronous Condenser projects. You will lead a team of engineers, deliver high‑quality design documents on schedule, and drive technical excellence across the design cycle.

Essential Responsibilities

Lead and review the secondary hardware design.

Produce high‑quality documents and specifications.

Design of Protection & Control (P&C) cubicle circuit diagrams and layouts.

Low voltage (LV) cabling design, including cable drawings and lists.

Interface with internal and external teams such as principal engineers, control engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders, and support organizations.

Participate in technical negotiations with end customers and other stakeholders.

Support equipment sourcing (technical inputs, equipment evaluation, ERP system).

Facilitate cost‑reduction programs, including vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction.

Participate in P&C cubicle functionality testing and inspection in laboratory and/or on site.

Support project quality procedures and initiatives including ISO9001 aspects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5 years of experience, or associate’s degree with 10 years of experience in electrical engineering.

Experience in P&C system design from energy, industrial or utility projects.

Familiarity with design engineering tools such as Engineering Base, AutoCAD, CADS, E3, EPLAN, or similar.

Electrical design of substation secondary systems is a benefit.

Knowledge of electro‑technical standards is a benefit.

Fluent written and oral English; other languages are beneficial.

Eligibility Requirements

Willingness to travel up to 25%, including domestic and international locations.

Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
