Responsibilities Project Setup & Planning
Collaborate with Estimating and Project Management to establish project budgets and phase codes in Viewpoint for accurate tracking.
Assist Business Development during contract negotiations as needed.
Ensure Procore is updated with current drawings prior to project start.
Work with Safety and Quality departments to develop site‑specific safety and quality plans.
Establish baseline construction schedule, including submittal dates and deliverables.
Develop work plans and sequencing in collaboration with the project team.
Procurement & Subcontract Management
Obtain purchase orders for long‑lead materials and ensure timely execution.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids, make recommendations, and assist in securing subcontracts.
Ensure all subcontracts are fully executed before work begins.
Coordinate equipment acquisitions through the Procurement Department.
Field Operations & Productivity
Manage and coordinate field activities, including means and methods for directional boring in rock and other heavy civil operations.
Identify resource needs (personnel, equipment) and set production, safety, and quality goals.
Monitor and update work schedules regularly to maintain progress.
Ensure weekly quantities are accurately tracked and reported.
Safety & Quality Oversight
Implement safety planning for all field operations, including work along busy roadways, rock boring, environmental hazards, and fire risks.
Promote and enforce adherence to site‑specific safety plans and quality standards.
Reporting & Cost Control
Complete weekly timesheets in Field Time Console (FTC).
Review progress and performance weekly with the Project Manager.
Contribute to monthly cost‑to‑complete projections and advise the Project Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
8 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical skills.
Detail oriented and good organization skills.
