Overview The Loan Servicing Generalist I position handles all post-closing issues that may arise. This position requires some knowledge of consumer loan servicing. Loan Servicing Generalist I perform the functions associated with maintaining consumer loan accounts including, but not limited to: the onboarding of consumer loans through the consumer loan payoff, and everything in between. As many of these processes are vital to the financial relationship with MCU members, accuracy, prompt problem resolution, empathy, and clear communication are critical to help our members meet their financial goals to achieve their dreams.
Responsibilities
Act as the key point of contact for all matters regarding the servicing of consumer loans, including but not limited to payments and transaction history, payoff requests, verifications, documentation, collateral perfection, member complaints, ancillary products.
Assist members and colleagues with loan servicing requests in accordance with established expectations and SLAs, including but not limited to:
Balance/payment/amortization inquiries
Member complaints
Payoff requests or loan verification requests
GAP/Mechanical Breakdown Protection/Credit Life/Credit Disability questions or claims
Collateral and lien release and perfection
Provide members, internal/external customers, and 3rd party vendors including car dealerships and insurance companies with quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
Prepare consumer payoff letters.
Participate in special projects as assigned.
Assist members in call queue as required.
Adhere to all regulatory compliance training inclusive of BSA/AML/OFAC and overall BSA/AML/OFAC compliance.
Perform light typing and other clerical duties as required.
Overtime as required.
Perform other duties as required.
Travel as required.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required, Associate’s Degree preferred.
1-3 years Consumer Loan Servicing Experience is required including vehicle loans.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
