We are seeking a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) to join our manufacturing team and ensure that all welding activities and finished weldments meet internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, knowledgeable in welding processes, and capable of working independently and collaboratively to uphold product quality and compliance. Job Responsibilities

Inspect welds at various stages of production to ensure they meet AWS, ASME, and/or customer-specific standards. Review welding procedures (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder performance qualifications (WPQ). Conduct visual inspections and utilize nondestructive testing (NDT) methods such as VT, PT, MT, or UT as required. Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare accurate reports on weld quality, defects, and conformance. Work closely with welders, engineers, and supervisors to resolve welding issues and ensure adherence to quality standards. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring weld issues and recommending corrective actions. Participate in internal and external audits, customer inspections, and quality reviews. Ensure compliance with safety policies and maintain a safe, clean work environment. Stay current with industry codes, standards, and best practices related to welding and inspection. Certification: AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) – active and in good standing. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of welding inspection experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Knowledge: Familiarity with common welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, etc.) and materials. Skills

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications. Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality reporting tools. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Preferred

NDT certifications, experience with ISO or ASME quality systems, and understanding of fabrication processes. Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer; standing; walking. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to communicate verbally with co-workers and other individuals; be able to hear well; see clearly and up close. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
