The duties of a Pediatric Dental Assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in our dental office. Daily Duties
Verify and explain patient insurance benefits
Assists with posting insurance payments and adjustments
Verify patient medical history
Take digital x-rays of children’s teeth
Prepare and breakdown treatment rooms
Chart the doctor’s observations, comments, and recommended treatments
Accurately document treatments provided during each visit
Assist with managing supply inventory
Serve as the infection control officer, preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
Educate children and parents on proper brushing techniques and the importance of the recommended treatments
Qualifications
Successful completion of an accredited dental assistant training program (or 3 years of progressive experience)
Expanded duty certification (preferred)
Current CPR certification (required)
Strong understanding of Slack and OpenDental
Competency in Microsoft Office, Google Suites, email, social media, copiers, and multiple line phone system
Ability to be a team player who enjoys working and assisting with others
Must be a problem solver, task oriented, and pay attention to detail
