Summary Part-time (20 hours per week) - Weekdays
Additional Information Responsible for the design, fabrication, and fit of all orthotic devices assigned. Responsible for all documentation for assigned patients. Assists Chief of Prosthetics/Orthotics in operations of department and section designee in Chief of Prosthetics/Orthotics's absence.
Required Education Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience
Required Work Experience Related Field - 2 years of experience
Recommended Work Experience Orthotics - 2 years Pediatric Orthotics
Required Certifications Orthotist License - Arkansas Department of Health, Orthotist - The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc.
Responsibilities
Performs appropriate evaluations and elicits needed data to determine most appropriate treatments for the selected disability and sets appropriate goals.
Identifies needs and provides correct patient and family education regarding those needs.
Maintains patient load in keeping with AC requirements.
Participates as an Orthotist in the interdisciplinary clinic team approach.
Fabricates and fits a wide variety of orthoses in keeping with standard of current practice.
Ensures that production times are met.
Develops or designs systems to meet the current needs of the patients.
Correctly selects and interprets appropriate data for oral and written documentation.
Reports data in professional terminology and in a timely manner.
Utilizes patient appointment scheduling procedure and charge mechanisms correctly.
Utilizes patient referral mechanisms to other medical services (Inpatient, Outpatient, Specialty Clinics, Physicians, Physical and Occupational Therapists).
Maintain fees for service in line with funding sources and maintains appropriate coding structure for the services provided.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
