Overview
FlexStaff is seeking an Office Administrator with experience in Healthcare Insurance Authorization and Medical Billing for our Client, a Prosthetics and Orthotics Lab.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm. This is a Temp-to-Hire role.
Responsibilities
Provide clerical support, answer phone calls, obtain accurate insurance information, verification, and pre-authorization.
Front Desk Management: greet and welcome patients as they arrive; check in patients and schedule appointments.
Appointment Scheduling: manage and coordinate appointment scheduling for multiple healthcare providers; reschedule or cancel appointments as necessary.
Patient Registration: collect patient information, insurance details, and relevant medical history; ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
Telephone Communication: answer phone calls promptly and professionally; respond to inquiries from patients, family members, and other healthcare staff; relay messages to appropriate staff and follow up on patient calls.
Record Keeping: maintain and update patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems or paper files; ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Billing and Insurance: verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits; collect co-pays and payments from patients; assist patients with billing questions or concerns.
Medical Correspondence: prepare and send out correspondence such as appointment reminders and follow-up letters; ensure efficient handling of incoming and outgoing medical records and correspondence.
Office Management: maintain a clean and organized reception area; order and manage office supplies as needed; collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth office operations.
Support Healthcare Providers: assist medical professionals with administrative tasks as needed; prepare charts for daily appointments and ensure all necessary documents are available.
Customer Service: provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families; address patient concerns and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications At least 3 years of healthcare billing/collections experience.
