Assistant Controller

– Contract-to-hire | Start ASAP

Base pay range:

$60.00/hr - $75.00/hr

An innovative electric vehicle company is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee core accounting functions and lead process improvements. This is a full-time, onsite role working closely with top industry professionals to support timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations with backup processes for all critical functions

Create and maintain corporate accounting policies

Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy

Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reports for leadership

Lead process optimization and strategic planning initiatives

Manage SOX 404 implementation for general accounting

Act as the primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits

Support internal, statutory, tax, and SEC audit processes

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

10+ years of general accounting experience at a public company (required)

Experience in manufacturing or OEM environments (required)

Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Knowledge of SAP HANA preferred

CPA certification preferred
