Overview Optimized Process Designs (OPD) is an engineering and construction company based in Katy, TX, specializing in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of Koch Engineered Solutions, which offers a broad range of capabilities across many sectors.

Responsibilities

Strong knowledge of precision millwright equipment, tools, procedures, and best practices.

Act as a safety role model for the team.

Inspect, move, and set equipment such as turbines, pumps, motors, fans, cooling towers, and compressors into position.

Use precision leveling and alignment tools to measure angles, material thickness, and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, optical instrumentation, and other tools.

Participate in onsite safety meetings and follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.

Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively in a team environment.

Physical Demands

Work in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations.

Lifting and carrying objects up to 60 lbs.

Standing for extended periods up to 11 hours per day.

Regularly using arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending.

Perform work on elevated platforms, maintaining balance on narrow surfaces such as beams and pipes while wearing an approved full‑body harness and lanyard.

Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience as a millwright.

3 or more years of experience in the heavy civil construction industry.

Willingness to travel for extended periods away from home in remote areas.

Ability and willingness to work shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Ability to meet all physical demands of the job and attend mandatory safety meetings.

Safety role model and adherence to safety culture.

Preferred Experience

3 or more years of prior experience as a millwright.

Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment.

NCCER Millwright Certification.
