Job Description:

Participates with the Health Care Team in delivering quality health care to patients in a manner which reflects Kaiser Permanente’s mission, vision, and values while supporting the Labor Management Partnership principles and practice. Provides support and assistance to the patient and Health Care team to promote population-based care, continuity of care, customer satisfaction, and self-care. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills with a caring, courteous, flexible, supportive, respectful, open‑minded, appreciative attitude committed to a team environment. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing and evaluating the nursing care for patients during the inter‑operative phase and coordinating care activities with other ASC professionals.
Essential Responsibilities
Representative Functions or Duties: Professional practice standards, shift, unit and organizational policies, reliability and attendance, time‑keeping, quality assurance, continual learning, communications, confidentiality (HIPAA), collaboration, professional conduct, staff meetings, communication notebook updates.
Planning Standard of Performance: Utilizes assessment data to establish a nursing plan of care sensitive to the patient’s developmental needs, procedure type, and appropriate set‑up.
Implementation Standard of Performance: Applies correct body alignment in positioning and transferring patient, organizes nursing activities efficiently in both circulating and scrub roles, records and documents relevant information according to policy.
Evaluation Standard of Performance: Evaluates and documents patient outcomes, participates in unit quality assurance activities monthly.
Safety Management Standard of Performance: Maintains safety in using equipment per manufacturer instructions and policies, complies with Kaiser and unit‑specific policies.
Basic Qualifications Experience
Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in acute care or ambulatory care/clinic setting within the last five (5) years.
Minimum two (2) years of experience circulating in inpatient or ambulatory surgery setting within the past five (5) years.
Education
Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
License, Certification, Registration
Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
Basic Life Support

Preferred Qualifications
Specialty experience within the last three (3) years.
Three to five (3‑5) years of OR circulating and scrubbing experience.
CNOR certification.
ACLS certification.
Pre‑op area skills.
IV start skills.
Minimum two (2) years of experience circulating in inpatient or ambulatory surgery setting within the past three (3) years.
