Licensed PracticalNurse - Home Health Broward County- Full time - Part time - PRN
Qualifications:Certification as Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida.
DUTIES
The LicensedPractical Nurse shall provide assigned nursing care under the direction of aregistered nurse who provides onsite supervisions as needed, based upon theseverity of patient's medical condition and the nurses training experience.
The LicensedPractical Nurse shall:
Prepare and record clinical notes for the clinical records
Report any changes in the patient's condition to the case manager/registerednurse withthe reports documented in the clinical record
Perform assigned tasks, including the Administration of treatment andmedications, in thecare of the patient within the scope of practice authorized by the licenseissued by theState for a licensed practical nurse.
Weekly reviewsthe utilization and progress of the patient with the RN, supervisor andattending physician as necessary.
Has knowledge ofpatient's condition at all times and informs the physician, physicianassistant, or advanced registered nurse practitioner, RN and/or the NursingSupervisor immediately of any change in the patient's condition that warrantsattention. Also observes, evaluates,and reports to the physician the patient's reaction to drugs or treatment.
Interprets to thepatient and family the expectations of the diagnosis and the nature of thetreatment consistent with the action and wishes of the physician. Interprets tothe social and physical factors in the environment that affect patient care, byRegistered Nurse supervision.
Is responsiblefor the execution of the physician's orders, supervised by a Registered Nurse,and keeps the physician informed of all pertinent information concerning thepatient's condition and response to treatment. Gives skills of care topatients. Other duties assigned by the registered nurse. Ensure HIPAAguidelines and procedures are maintained. Participate in in-services program,and discharge planning under registered nurse supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to speak,read, and write in English.
Able to readassignments, follow directions
Able tocommunicate and respond clearly on telephone and respond to patients spokenneeds.
The ability tophysically transfer, lift, or assist patients whose average weight is 160 pounds with orwithout the aid of mechanical devices.
Able to spend 80%of work standing and/or moving about.
Able to walk,climb stairs, stoop, twist, bend, and squat to perform essential job functions.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Able toconcentrate on detail with frequent interruptions.
Able to follow,complete and remember daily routines and requirements.
Able tocomprehend and utilize professional education materials.
Able to cope withthe mental and emotional stress of the position.
