Job Purpose and Summary As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing a caring service that exceeds expectations. They operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication. Throughout their shifts, they demonstrate genuine care and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture.

Technicians complete a rigorous company training program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to state Board of Pharmacy guidelines before full duties are granted.

Key Responsibilities

Follow all SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off).

Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, including providing immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone.

Complete basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership, including accurate medicine pick‑ups, cycle counts and returns‑to‑stocks.

Embrace a growth mindset, actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge, and contribute to a high‑performing team.

Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, and travel to stores in the market as required.

Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles to ensure patient safety and privacy.

Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) where permissible and supported by training.

Immunization Responsibilities

Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.

Educate patients on vaccine importance and refer to the pharmacist‑on‑duty for questions.

Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report per public health requirements.

Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.

Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.

Required Qualifications

Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification.

If the board does not mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years old.

If the board does not mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in a high school or high‑school equivalency program.

State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

Essential Functions

Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.

Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy.

Customer Service and Team Orientation: look for ways to help people in a friendly manner, respond appropriately to patient reactions.

Communication Skills: use verbal and written communication, active listening, and respectful dialogue.

Mathematical Reasoning: solve calculation problems related to prescription dispensing.

Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.

Physical Demands: mobile, upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, use fine motor skills, maintain visual acuity, etc.

Any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.

Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.

Announced Pay Range $19.46 – $19.46 per hour. The actual base salary will vary based on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
