Our office in West Los Angeles, CA is hiring for a Senior Financial Planner. As a Senior Financial Planner, you will work with advisors to create customized and comprehensive financial plans, develop and review spreadsheets, perform data entry, prepare and conduct seminars for clients, assist with advisor training, and provide additional support to the Financial Planning Director. Hybrid role in West Los Angeles
Salary range: $93,500 – $115,500 plus annual bonus
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with advisors on clients with assets under management of $2 million or more; consult with the Financial Planning Manager on clients with assets of $5 million and more complex plans.
Collect data for financial planning via client questionnaire, clarify and verify client answers, and enter data into the financial planning system.
Utilize financial planning software to generate plans and review them with the Financial Advisor.
Create specific action plans for clients based on recommendations in their financial plan.
Create, review, and enter data into spreadsheets to analyze specific financial planning and/or business planning issues.
Collaborate with the financial planning team to assess existing software and recommend changes and upgrades to maximize client opportunities.
Work with Operations and IT to enhance existing software, develop new systems, and deploy them.
Work with Marketing to review and edit written and other materials made available to the public.
Conduct research as required by the Director of Financial Planning.
Teach the nuances of the firm’s culture and sales process in training sessions.
Conduct financial planning seminars for clients, COI’s, and local branches.
Assist the Director with M&A efforts involving training and integration.
Assist in training newly hired staff in both the planning department and the advisor sector.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications
CFP designation required.
Knowledge of financial planning software such as eMoney (required); Money Guide Pro and holistiplan highly preferred.
3‑7 years of experience in financial services or a related field (client‑facing experience a plus).
Undergraduate degree required; preferably in a business‑related major.
Strong interest in financial planning and wealth management issues.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
Ability to work independently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to organize and present data.
Strong computer skills, especially in Excel; programming skills a plus.
