Registered Dietitian part time

Banner Health . The position is located in Phoenix, Arizona, within the Culinary & Nutrition-Hosp department. It is a part‑time, day shift role with alternating weekend and holiday coverage, floating across all hospital units and the MDA clinic.

Core Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nutritional assessments and enteral/parenteral nutrition orders for all assigned patients.

Develop and manage individualized nutrition care plans, monitoring outcomes and communicating effectively to the interdisciplinary health care team.

Deliver patient and family nutrition counseling and education, creating teaching materials and in‑service programs.

Maintain competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols, completing initial competency exams and ongoing evaluation.

Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, outcome studies, and process improvement teams.

Serve as a mentor to new staff and interns, and provide leadership in the coverage area, monitoring proper patient care procedures.

Collaborate with peers to develop Nutrition Standards of Practice and education material.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and/or dietetics.

Registered Dietitian (RD) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within 6 months of hire, with a current license.

Current registration through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, maintaining annual verification.

Effective communication skills and ability to function independently.

Prior experience: 3 years in an acute care setting preferred; advanced knowledge of nutrition support (TPN, tube feeding, parenteral macros and micro-nutrients) required.

For behavioral health settings, possession of an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and a signed Arizona Criminal History Affidavit.

Preferred Qualifications

– Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
