Base pay range $95,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Growing food production facility near Gardena, CA is seeking a hands‑on
Continuous Improvement Manager
to lead CI initiatives, 5S programs, and capital projects across our manufacturing operations. This role focuses on improving shop floor performance, business processes, and overall value chain efficiency while ensuring improvements are sustained long‑term.
This position is
not a standard 40-hour role . The successful candidate must be available as needed, including weekends, when critical project work is scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute
Continuous Improvement (CI)
projects using
DMAIC
Serve as
5S Champion
and ensure long‑term sustainment of improvements
Manage
capital improvement projects
and support capital planning
Implement CI changes on the shop floor (layout, material flow, Kanban, workstation design)
Conduct data analysis using control charts, Pareto charts, histograms, etc.
Drive waste reduction, productivity improvements, lead time and WIP reduction
Perform root cause analysis and barrier removal
Create standard work, time studies, and production support tools
Track, document, and report project results
Support Kaizen and continuous improvement culture throughout the facility
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
3+ years of manufacturing experience
Strong knowledge of Lean tools:
5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 8 Wastes
Food manufacturing experience preferred
Experience leading
capital projects
Strong technical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Ability to analyze data and apply practical solutions
Basic mechanical skills (hand tools, drill press, cutoff saw)
Must be willing to work
50+ hours per week
Weekend work required
when project timelines demand it
Flexible weekday scheduling when appropriate
