Key Responsibilities
Enforce hotel rules and policies with respect and professionalism
Resolve conflicts using de‑escalation techniques
Analyze situations and implement effective actions
Communicate incident details to management
Create accurate incident/accident reports
Identify and investigate suspicious behavior and irregular activity
Conduct foot patrols of designated areas
Respond to alarms and assistance requests
Respond to medical emergencies, render aid, and relay information to EMS
Utilize CCTV systems for investigations and surveillance
Demonstrate a positive team mindset to help other departments achieve customer satisfaction
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Security
Qualifications Applicants must demonstrate an aptitude and interest in Hospitality and Physical Security. Hyatt Security Officers are trustworthy, dependable, emotionally mature, punctual, tactful, diplomatic, poise, self‑confident, sensitive to the needs and attitudes of others, neat, and courteous.
Basic Requirements
21 years of age or older
Valid Utah Driver’s License
Flexible schedule: morning, afternoon, overnight shifts with weekend and holiday availability
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to adhere to dress code and grooming standards
Good moral character and pass background investigation
Knowledge & Skills
Refined understanding of customer service principles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated problem‑solving ability
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in dynamic situations
Basic computer skills
Familiarity with 2‑Way Radio usage and etiquette
Education & Training
High School Diploma
CPR and First Aid required or to be obtained within first 90 days
Certified Lodging Security Officer (CLSO) certification required or to be obtained within first 120 days
Previous security, military, or emergency services experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Mentally alert, physically sound, with adequate hearing to perform essential functions
