Position Specific Description

The Senior Project Manager, Interconnections will have the primary responsibility of overseeing and driving progress through the full life cycle of development and construction of interconnection projects requested on NextEra Energy Transmission assets within Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and/or California Independent System Operator (CAISO) and/or Southwest Power Pool (SPP).

Key Responsibilities

Lead negotiation and execution of complex interconnection-related agreements with customer (Interconnecting Entity) and/or RTO/ISOs

Serve as primary point of contact with RTO/ISOs, and customers throughout project development, construction, and energization phases

Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, legal, and permitting to advance projects from development through successful commissioning

Actively manage and communicate statuses for all assigned active interconnection projects and related deadlines, including, study milestones, study costs, interconnection cost estimates to prevent slippages in queue timelines as well as construction schedules, budgets, and contractor performance to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery

Monitor potential or pending RTO/ISO tariff changes and actively follow various RTO/ISOs stakeholder meetings and industry advocacy groups

Key Skills

Strong project management skills, with an emphasis on managing multiple projects within a portfolio and managing priorities with regular adjustments to new information across multiple concurrent projects

In-depth expertise of ISO/RTO tariffs, business practices, protocols, procedures, and guides

Experience coordinating engineering design, procurement, permitting, and construction activities

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and synthesize complex transmission and interconnection materials into actionable guidance

Open to continually evaluate business needs and practices as the industry rapidly evolves, while successfully facilitating improvements and problem-solving

Exceptional organization, attention to detail, professional communication, and presentation skills

Location:

Juno Beach, FL Headquarters. Remote candidates will be considered for highly qualified candidates

Job Overview Job Duties & Responsibilities

Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result

Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations

Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects

Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects

Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection

Constructs contractual arrangements for project development

Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors

Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements

Fosters external relationships with customers, thirdparties and members of the community

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High School Grad/GED

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
