Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) OR Clinical Lab Technician/MLT - 1.0 FTE

Shift Time: Days for Training, Evenings mostly thereafter (8-hour shifts)

Status: 1.0 FTE

Independently performs routine and special diagnostic procedures on blood and other body fluids from patients of all age groups served by SPH. The position routinely performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing (with an Associates degree).

Key Responsibilities

Process, analyze, and document specimens using automated/manual methods

Draw blood or assist with specimen collection and accessioning

Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab instruments or perform QC and preventive maintenance

Report critical values promptly to clinical teams

Lead or support process-improvement and training initiatives

Provide on-call, weekend, and holiday shift coverage

Qualifications Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS): Scientist: Bachelor’s in Medical Technology (or equivalent), national CLS certification and MT licensure within 6 months

Clinical Lab Technician/MLT: Associate’s in Medical Technology (or equivalent), national MLT certification and MT CLT licensure upon hire

One-year experience as a generalist clinical laboratory scientist or technician in a hospital setting preferred.
