Direct Support Professional (Part-Time, Every Other Weekend)

Help people with disabilities or mental illness live independent lives by providing support and services.
Direct Support Professionals provide daily care for adults with disabilities in a supportive home setting. Responsibilities include personal care, medication administration, household tasks, and guiding individuals through life skills development. Staff also accompany persons served on outings, appointments, and recreational activities offering variety and meaningful connection beyond the home. While rewarding, the role requires calm problem-solving and de-escalation during challenging behaviors. Collaboration is ongoing with house leads, case managers, and clinical staff to ensure care plans are followed. Shifts vary and are team-based, with opportunities for both independent work and group support depending on the needs of the home.

Qualifications
Must be 16+ years old (restrictions apply for minors)
Pass MN DHS background check and pre-employment drug screening
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Willing to work across multiple locations (Staples, Motley, and Pillager)
Basic computer and math skills
Accurate, timely documentation skills
Ability to follow 245D and other regulatory compliance guidelines
Able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
Scheduling
Varying shift lengths: 6, or 12 hours
Evening shifts (3p-7p) plus 12 hour weekends with $2/hr weekend differential ( 7a–7p or 9a–9p)
