Position Overview Responsible for assessing and preparing patients for Cardiac Cath, Pacemaker Implant, Structural Heart and IR procedures.
Provides recovery, monitoring and care for post‑cardiac catheterisation, post‑cardiac intervention, post‑peripheral angiography/intervention, post‑pacemaker and post‑structural heart procedure patients.
Receives direction from providers, anesthesia providers, nurse manager, cath lab manager/director and charge nurse.
Delegates to LPN and C.N.A.
Education
Graduate from an accredited nursing programme, required.
Successful completion of a 12‑Lead EKG course.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of continuous direct patient care, required.
Telemetry experience.
Licenses & Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support), required.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), required.
MT RN licence, required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of pre‑op/PACU delivery standards of care.
Knowledge of ASPAN standards and requirements.
Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the organisation.
Basic computer skills: opening, reading and responding to email; managing electronic files; printing electronic documents and reports.
Leadership, collaboration, and ability to handle pressure, deadlines and changing situations.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a wide variety of people.
Ability to manipulate electronic and clinical equipment, troubleshoot monitoring, IV infusions and computer equipment.
Capability to operate specialty equipment related to the area of expertise and perform computer tasks at a user level.
Work in a temperature‑controlled environment.
Potential contact with chemicals, blood‑borne pathogens and exposure to infectious disease.
Use of standard equipment in the stress lab.
