Sr. Analyst, Procurement FP&A We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Procurement Finance & Analytics team. This role will report to the Finance Manager, Procurement Analytics, and will serve as the finance lead for commodity price forecasting, savings tracking and FP&A reporting. The Sr. Analyst will partner across the businesses, working closely with Procurement Category Managers, Corporate FP&A and Operations to ensure accurate, timely forecasting and reporting of raw material costs and track and validate procurement-driven savings. You will play a key role in improving Smurfit WestRock’s decision-making by providing actionable analytics, executive-ready insights, and rigorous financial reporting. This is a high-visibility position with the opportunity to shape raw materials strategy, influence cost take-out delivery, and strengthen financial governance across the company.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Own savings tracking and forecasting for major raw materials categories, ensuring accuracy, timing alignment, and financial integrity across the company

Develop, maintain, and publish commodity price forecasts, incorporating Category Manager input, index movements, market intelligence, and procurement strategies

Upload all raw material and commodity assumptions directly into Hyperion, ensuring alignment between procurement expectations and corporate FP&A financial plans

Partner closely with Procurement Category Managers to review, validate, and approve all raw-material-related savings analyses and benefits projections

Function as the primary financial business partner for the Raw Materials category team, providing insights into cost trends, risk/opportunity areas, and financial impacts of sourcing decisions

Lead financial analysis and reporting for raw materials, including cost bridges, variance analysis, run-rate assessments, annualization schedules, and forecast vs. actual tracking

Participate in and occasionally lead systems, process, and reporting improvement initiatives, including productivity tracking enhancements and Hyperion process improvements

Support Finance and Procurement leadership with data-driven analysis related to commodity outlooks, raw materials inflation/deflation, and sourcing initiatives

Continuously refine departmental processes to improve efficiency, forecast accuracy, reporting clarity, and analytical rigor

Develop a solid technical understanding of the P&L, financial systems and accounting processes to assist with training, drive process improvements and develop new tools and analysis to enhance our understanding of the business.

What you need to succeed:

Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data interpretation skills with the ability to forecast commodity prices, evaluate raw material costs, and convert insights into clear financial impacts.

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or related discipline

Self-starter and independent thinker with strong technical and financial experience, with ability to understand and communicate complex data, leverage economic analytics, evaluate costs and other business intelligence capabilities to drive understanding and decision making

Strong people skills with desire and ability to work in a team/collaborative environment and build rapport across functional teams

Strong critical thinking skills, attention to accuracy and passion for improvement

Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with all levels in the organization – tailoring communications effectively for different groups and stakeholders

Ability to work independently, balancing routine responsibilities with ad hoc requests

Comfort with ambiguity and constant changes, and ability to manage tight deadlines

Strong Microsoft Office skills; SAP, JD Edwards, and Hyperion a plus
