Member Service Representative II
Full time – 40 hours Monday – Saturday (Varies) Friday 9 am to 6 pm

Purpose The primary purpose of this position is to assist Silver State Schools Credit Union to live out its Mission, "Excellent Member Service and Financial Solutions – For Life," by providing outstanding service to both members and internal members. A key component of this service is to identify member needs and provide appropriate credit union product solutions.

Professionally greet and interview members to determine financial needs and suggest products
Contribute to loan & member growth and member service
Organize and prioritize work to ensure timely opening, processing, and funding of accounts and loans
Process and open new accounts and services while meeting cross‑sell standards
Uncover opportunities to refer business to other lines of business partners within the credit union
Accurately complete all Safe Deposit Box services
Process financial transactions for members, including issuing checks, processing deposits, and filing insurance claims
Identify cross‑sell opportunities and maintain expert knowledge of credit union features and benefits
Take ownership of all member requests or complaints
Respond to member inquiries regarding accounts, access to services, reconciliations, and use of automated services
Analyze loan applications and supporting documentation; determine feasibility of qualifying the requested loan
Provide counseling to applicants and members regarding loan decisions and applicable policies
Review all loan applications, gather supporting documents, and submit to Consumer Lending for a credit decision
Look for ways to qualify the loan request by gathering additional information and presenting counteroffers
Ensure all executed documentation and packets are complete, accurate, and archived according to policy
Analyze income verifications, title reports, and collateral appraisals when needed
Recommend suitable insurance products and ancillary products
Communicate credit decisions to applicants in a timely manner
Call outbound for campaigns, promotions, and pre‑approved offers
Explain the features and benefits of all credit union electronic services
Assist with auditing (cash balancing, ATM balancing, instant issue cards)
Follow established policies, regulations, visitor and security guidelines
Perform all required functions with accuracy, efficiency, dependability, and within the credit union's standard of conduct
Be competent and confident in the sales environment
Maintain a cooperative and positive attitude toward members, potential members, and credit union team
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Understand the importance of “first responders” in overall image and service satisfaction
Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; and a minimum of 2–4 years banking or credit union experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Thorough knowledge of the credit union's computer system desired, including Word and Excel.
