Role Description Nation’s Best is seeking a full‑time Outside Sales Representative (OSR) based at Simms Lumber in Weatherford, TX. This is a primarily field‑based role, with approximately 80% of time spent in the field and 20% at the store.

The OSR is responsible for driving lumber and building material sales by developing and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, builders, remodelers, and roofers. This role focuses on prospecting, job site visits, account growth, and providing consultative support to customers, including product selection, new product updates, market trends, pricing, and delivery coordination.

The OSR will prepare bids, complete take‑offs and estimates as needed, input orders, assist with accounts receivable collections, and collaborate closely with store and operations teams to ensure excellent service and follow‑through. Success in this role requires strong field presence, disciplined account management, and consistent achievement of sales goals.

Qualifications

Proven experience in outside sales, account management, or relationship‑based selling

Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Experience in hardware, home improvement, construction, or building materials strongly preferred

Experience preparing take‑offs, estimates, and bids preferred

Self‑motivated, organized, and effective at managing time in a field‑based role

Results‑oriented with the ability to serve customers with humility and steward Nation’s Best’s values

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities

Willingness to travel locally approximately 80% of the time

Must have valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree is a plus

Compensation & Benefits The OSR role is compensated through a base salary plus uncapped commission, with commission paid monthly, and includes a monthly car and phone allowance.
