Duties Make routine official visits to collocated facilities/suborganizations. Develop and coordinate with installation and external agencies in the application of effective recycling programs for the hospital. Implement organizational structures and operating plans and procedures to achieve program goals. Maintain a linen inventory budget and schedules and conducts annual linen inventory in accordance with pertinent regulations. Recommend approval of acquisition of required equipment, supplies, and material.
Requirements Conditions of employment
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver’s license. Incumbent must obtain CLLM (Certified Laundry and Linen Manager) course certification within 12 months of employment. Incumbent will be required to complete training for transporting Regulated Medical Waste (RMW), within six months of employment, per applicable regulations and service component directives. Recurrent training is required every two (2) years. Incumbent must meet all Department of Defense (DoD) Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) or Federal Acquisition Certification requirements, within six months of employment, per DoD Instruction Number 5000.72, dated 26 March 2015.
Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes directing waste management or recycling programs within a medical facility; coordinating with contracted services to provide hospital housekeeping services; and evaluating medical housekeeping programs to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: chemistry or biological sciences, sanitary science or administration, institutional sanitation or administration, hospital administration, hotel administration, public administration, business administration, public health or business administration with emphasis in hospital administration. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
