About the job Qualifications:
Have a desire and ability to work with a diverse skill set aimed at passing the licensing exam for Massachusetts CNA
The instructor must possess the ability to work with students from various backgrounds, maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to development, and concepts of good patient care. Further the examination of pertinent practices that are registered nurse license in Massachusetts.
Two years nursing experience
At least 1 year LTC experience
Ability to perform physical work with patients and students in a diverse environment
Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved populations. Excellent organizational skills; Skilled in teaching adult learners; Willingness to work on a flexible schedule to meet educational goals. Possess strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
Prepare students for local and global citizenship, to meet critical workforce demands of communities, and to contribute to the regions
Instruct students according to the curriculum Teach the course curriculum as outlined in the manual entitled “Nursing Assisting: A Foundation in Care Giving 5th Edition” Hartman
Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting
Evaluate and document student progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained
Communicate effectively with students, and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities
Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student support MassBays commitment to the Equity Agenda
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on the college’s strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to
Engage with the Office of Diversity on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Engage in conversations with colleagues and students regarding best practices within the discipline or programmatic related to assignments
Assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster employee development; All employees of MassBay are expected to work collegially and
Final candidates are required to provide sealed transcripts and/or a successful CORI clearance.
