We are seeking a motivated Junior CAD Electrical Designer to join our engineering team. In this entry‑level role, you will assist in the creation and modification of electrical schematics, layouts, and drawings using CAD software. You will work under the guidance of senior designers and engineers to support electrical design projects in [industry, e.g., manufacturing, construction, building services, or renewable energy]. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early‑career professionals to develop hands‑on skills in electrical design.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and revise electrical drawings, including single‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules using AutoCAD and/or other CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP).

Assist in the development of electrical design packages for projects from concept through construction phases.

Incorporate redlines and markup feedback from senior engineers and project managers into drawings.

Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry codes (e.g., NEC, IEC), and client specifications.

Collaborate with electrical engineers to gather design requirements and resolve technical issues.

Maintain organized project files, drawing libraries, and documentation.

Perform basic calculations and checks for accuracy of designs (e.g., load schedules, voltage drop).

Support coordination with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, architectural) for multidisciplinary projects.

Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of CAD standards and templates.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

0–3 years of experience in electrical CAD drafting/design (internships or co‑op experience count).

Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Electrical.

Basic understanding of electrical systems, components, and terminology (e.g., power distribution, lighting, controls).

Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE) is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.

Good problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering documents

Time management and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, or low‑voltage systems

Certification in AutoCAD or related CAD software
