How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Strategic Sourcing Manager – IT Supply Chain is responsible for sourcing and negotiating key products and services utilized by Delta’s IT department, as well as technology used across divisions. This includes contracting for hardware, software, professional services, and managed services.
Skills and Competencies:
Delta’s mainframe environment
Data center hardware
End-user computing hardware (including airport kiosks)
IT developer tools
Lead sourcing projects in collaboration with business units
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals
Manage supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution
Partner with cross-functional teams including legal, finance, and information security
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders
Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will build and maintain relationships with business leaders and controllers, understand both short- and long-term business strategies, and lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies. This includes supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting, in close partnership with legal, information security, and finance teams. Occasional travel may be required. Safety‑conscious behavior is expected in all operational processes and procedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience
Strategic and systemic thinking
Strong relationship‑building and communication skills
Project management and consensus‑building abilities
Proficiency in MS Office and proposal analysis
Negotiation and contract management expertise
Financial analysis and forecasting
Experience in strategic sourcing, TCO/design‑to‑cost, and value‑based decision analysis
Presentation and meeting leadership skills
Research and analytical proficiency
Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
