Job Summary & Qualifications The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
Responsibilities
Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient‑centered care.
Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
Support a patient‑first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
Support the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, or disciplinary actions to ensure a better organization.
Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
Current BLS Certification (AHA or ARC); Current ACLS Certification (AHA or ARC); PALS Certification (AHA or ARC); and TNCC Certification.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
Minimum of 2 years clinical RN experience preferred.
Two years progressive supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to have direct patient care and charge nurse responsibilities; recognize needs and concerns of people and maintain constructive relationships.
Adherence to departmental safety initiatives; effective oral and written communication.
Participation in counseling and guidance of personnel; leadership role with the health team in planning and delivery of patient care.
Demonstrated competence with patient care information systems.
Strong planning, analytical, and written skills.
Ability to utilize and coach others in the nursing process.
Ability to utilize database, spreadsheet, word processing to conduct analysis of statistical reports.
Ability to educate, coach, and mentor staff using adult learning principles.
