Qualifications
Undergraduate SAQA recognised qualification Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or B. Proc degree
Admitted as an attorney or an advocate
Experience
Minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification legal experience of which at least 3 years of experience at a middle level
Previous experience in the position of an attorney, advocate or legal advisor preferred
Experience in a government entity or corporate preferred
Experience in providing legal advice on the regulatory frameworks applicable to government entities preferred
Proven track-record and experience in providing legal advice on a broad-range of matters
Knowledge
Knowledge of applicable legal prescripts
Proven knowledge of litigation and court procedure
Regulatory compliance and corporate governance
Policy drafting, application, and review
Contract drafting, negotiation and review
Employment/labour law knowledge
Property law knowledge
Contract law
Key Performance Areas
Manage litigation on behalf of ADA
Provision of legal advice and opinions
Interpretation and application of legislation affecting ADA
Policy drafting and review
Contract drafting and contract management
Monitoring legal compliance
Suitable candidates will be selected with the intention of promoting representativity.
