Description:
The School of Nursing at Clemson University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor, tenure‑track position. The position is a 9‑month appointment located primarily at the School of Nursing Building, Prisma Health Upstate campus, Greenville, SC, with occasional responsibilities on the main Clemson University campus, Clemson, SC. The ideal candidate will be an emerging expert with a research program related to obstetrics/women’s health or other related health. Candidates should possess a record of funded research, peer-reviewed publications, other scholarly activities, and graduate student supervision. Teaching responsibilities may occur at undergraduate or graduate level, with expected mentoring of Departmental Honors, DNP, and/or PhD students. The candidate will contribute to meeting the University’s overarching goals as detailed in Clemson Elevate.
Responsibilities
Teaching: develop and deliver relevant course material consistent with teaching at an R1 university; prepare for teaching of graduate and undergraduate students; include undergraduate instruction in the accelerated summer program; additional duties may include instruction/leadership in the clinical and/or simulation laboratory settings for graduate or undergraduate students.
Research and Scholarship: lead research initiatives among nursing faculty and students, healthcare partners, and other departments within the university.
Service: serve on university, college, and school committees as elected; provide a national and/or international presence in relevant professional organizations that advance the field of nursing.
Mentorship of students, including service on PhD, DNP, Master, and/or undergraduate research committees.
Engagement: participate in activities related to the advancement of the mission, vision, and goals for the School of Nursing.
Qualifications
PhD in Nursing
Eligible for South Carolina registered nurse license
Evidence or potential for continued research funding and scholarly publications
Preferred Qualifications
Board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner
Prior experience with teaching undergraduate and graduate level students
Evidence of successful research and grant writing
Experience leading and supervising laboratory and/or clinical research involving undergraduate and graduate students
Ability to lead students to successful completion of dissertation requirements
