Job Description Position Description:
Nevada Gold Mines is looking for an Industrial Hygiene and Contractor & Risk Management General Supervisor to join the Safety and Health team.
Responsibilities: Demonstrate company values in all actions and decisions
Oversee and drive maintenance/improvement of the site risk management program and systems
Oversee the development of standards, programs, and plans related to Industrial Hygiene
Oversee and lead contractor management specialists and contractors in adherence to the Contractor Management Standard.
Oversee and manage the site ISO 45001 certification program.
Provide leadership and set clear expectations to all direct reports and to the site
Provide professional development opportunities for direct reports to achieve their career goals
Provide technical support and direction to divisional management
Review and assist with divisional policy and procedure development
Assist in Formal and High-Level Risk Assessments
Provide in-field Safety & Health coaching to all employees
Actively participate in divisional toolbox training sessions/safety meetings/ supervisor training
Assist and instruct MSHA topics with new hires, ART and Contractor hazard Training as required
Audit divisional contractor control reps per the requirements of the Contractor Management Standard
Evaluate systems for functionality, effectiveness and efficiency
Assist in incident investigations
Ensure compliance to regulatory, corporate, or site requirements
Assist in meeting annual budget by scrutinizing expenditures
Ensure audits of investigation corrective actions are completed and in a timely manner
Be on-call to respond to incidents and injuries occurring at any hour
Provide on-call coverage as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
8 years of experience in industry with proven/demonstrated Leadership in Industrial Hygiene and Health and Safety or,
5 years of Industrial Hygiene and Health and Safety experience or,
3 years industry experience and degree in Industrial Hygiene and/or Health and Safety or related field.
Supervisory and leadership experience -
Preferred
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or related certifications –
Preferred
ISO 45001 program management and auditing experience -
Preferred
Communicates regularly, both written and oral, in a wide range of forums to both hourly and management personnel -
Required
Demonstrates exceptional leadership skills; leads team members with strategic vision and develops them into their career goals –
Required
Able to deliver results individually, and through team members, in accordance with compliance and strategic plans-
Required
