The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment, delivering coordinated, safe, compassionate, evidence-based quality care to patients and families based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care.
Develop, update, and coordinate the patients' plan of care to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Perform and maintain essential competencies as required by the unit and population served.
Advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning.
Facilitate learning for patients/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team, including students.
Align practice with safety and quality by identifying and correcting problems and integrating evidence and best practice.
Engage in ongoing professional development and practice at the top of the license within legal parameters.
Lead as a change agent using collaborative leadership skills of advocacy, influence, and innovation.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse licensed in the state of employment.
At least one year of experience; less than one year experience acceptable if transitioned from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program.
Maintain BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certification unit dependent.
BSN in Nursing preferred; Specialty Certification preferred.
Education & Certification
Registered Nurse, State of Practice.
BSN in Nursing preferred.
BLS certification required.
ACLS certification unit dependent.
PALS certification unit dependent.
Other Duties
Proficiency in information technology, such as electronic health records and communication systems.
Work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Use independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude.
Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations.
Work Conditions Normal office environment with exposure to patient materials and standard care activities.
Payrate $39 to $54.12
