Join our first-class team to reinvent in-flight experience. In the role of Product Engineer 1 you'll play a pivotal part on our production team.
The Product Engineer I will take ownership and/or support technical engineering teams and projects related to water and waste systems product. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will interface with cross functional groups (internal and external) to ensure robust, airworthy designs are attained which meet budget, schedule and internal requirements and goals.
Independently owns, or leads a team for small/medium size projects.
Able to review, check and approve work done by peers and lower level engineers on Product Development activities such as -
Aerospace Product requirements mapping, Methods of Compliance & Requirement Verification plan
Provides technical inputs for Technical Analysis (Stress Analysis/Thermal/Electrical)
Provides Design requirements and inputs to Product Design team (Mechanical / Electrical / SW)
Supports Verification unit hardware test setup procurement, build and maintenance
Supports Verification procedure writing / Verification testing and troubleshooting
Supports Industrialization activity of new product introduction
Create Qualification testing procedures and setups
Performs Qualification testing, and troubleshooting
Creation of all technical / project documentation
Supports Production Build of Products with Investigation of Inspection Reports and Root Cause Corrective Actions
Follows sound engineering principles to ensure designs meet airworthiness standards, customer requirements and ZWWS internal standards.
Provides guidance and training to lower level engineers.
Assesses and creates standard work and leads or support improvement projects (group or company level).
Interfaces with various groups (internal and external) to bring projects to completion.
Able to review, check and approve work done by peers and lower level engineers.
Able to assess standard work and support or lead improvement projects.
Understands how various groups (engineering, industrialization, operations) work together and able to navigate through the company.
Able to interface with existing suppliers and OEMs.
Other duties as assigned.
Candidate skills & requirements
Engineering foundation - In one or more disciplines such as electrical, thermal, electromechanical, materials, structural, aerospace, and chemical fields.
Analytical – Collects and researches data
Electromechanical Design – Uses feedback to modify designs and demonstrates attention to detail
Composite Design – Uses feedback to modify designs and demonstrates attention to detail
Product / System Testing - Requests and coordinates the construction of samples, mockups, prototypes, and the execution of development tests, to minimize the failure risk of materials or designs
Technical Skills – Pursues training and development opportunities and strives to continuously build knowledge and skills
Technical Writing – Create Technical reports for external and internal distribution
Interpersonal Skills – Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things
Problem Solving- Resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternate solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations
Strategic Thinking – Develops strategies to achieve organizational success
