Job Summary Broan‑NuTone has an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Manager - USA to help achieve our mission of Better Air, Better Life. The Transportation Manager will have a primary focus around planning, Transportation Provider performance and driving execution through routines and process improvement.

Duties will consist of Inbound/Outbound/Transfer shipment coverage, communication with Transportation Providers, sites, initiating RFQ processes, initiating & managing Transportation Provider contracts, identifying & realizing cost saving initiatives and cross functional stakeholders. Owns TMS provider relationship/management, Transportation Provider performance metrics and will coordinate Transportation Provider meetings and facilitate operational communication with Transportation Provider base and stakeholders as needed.

This position will mainly work within Transportation Operations but will have frequent interactions with the entire end-to-end Supply Chain including Logistics, Supply Chain, Planning and Finance.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain and develop relationships with Transportation Providers that support all modes of Transportation in North America (US, Canada, and Mexico), with primary ownership in the US market.

Manage the US Transportation coordination team.

Manage all communications with key internal and external customers (e.g., customer service, sales & marketing, manufacturing, purchasing, DC, Transportation Provider sales, Transportation Provider terminal). Negotiate “win-win” solutions.

Ownership of budgets, forecasting freight spend and savings for North American transportation.

Track and manage Transportation Provider KPI’s and work with Transportation Providers to meet and exceed service level and budgetary KPI’s.

Perform first level of Transportation Provider contract and rate negotiations - Ocean, Intermodal, Truckload & LTL

Perform transportation cost analysis to support other projects (e.g., product launches, new customers, mode selection, freight term changes).

Support Transportation financial reporting and development of forecasts/coordination with key segments on NPD launches/Sales campaigns.

Manage routing guides to support low-cost Transportation Provider selection - IB & OB.

Identify Transportation Provider to handle expedited service requests.

Maintain dual sourcing strategy, especially in key supply and distribution lanes.

Proactively recognize changes in market conditions and develop solutions to mitigate risk.

Monitor daily Transportation Provider pick-up performance and trailer pool, identify root cause of failures, and work with DC(s) and Transportation Provider to meet and exceed KPI’s.

Support continuous maintenance freight class and NMFC assignment to items for proper freight costing.

Manage freight loss and damage claims.

Support and assist in creation of internal and external development of SOP's, training, KPI metrics and continuous improvement projects.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience in logistics/transportation.

5+ years of experience working in the Transportation and logistics areas of the supply chain as well as managing teams.

Proven ability to communicate and develop customer and supplier relationships.

Experience negotiating Transportation Provider contracts and price addendums.

Proven analytic skills using data to identify opportunities, validate analysis, with subsequent successful capability to drive change.

High degree of understanding and skills in Transportation financial reporting.

Demonstrated problem‑solving skills with use of Lean concepts and continuous improvement.

Proven background and use of ERP Systems with specific focus on TMS & WMS.

Solid understanding and proficient use of PC and Microsoft applications with focus on Excel.

Demonstrated leadership qualities, professionalism, accountability, positive “can‑do” attitude.
