Overview
As a Battery Inventory Specialist, you will manage inventory within the Battery Center to control costs and write‑offs. You will become a battery technology expert through hands‑on training and mentorship. Batteries are essential to our vehicles and you will be key to our operations. Location: 2890 B S Goliad Rd, Rockwall, TX Schedule: Monday through Friday, tentatively 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Major Responsibilities
Receive and ship batteries using inventory software to record, track, and maintain all inventory data. Determine if a battery can be cleaned and reused or should be disposed, measured against the appropriate baseline. Package cleaned batteries to prep for shipment. Oversee and evaluate inventory rotation and management; conduct cycle counts to ensure accuracy and minimize write‑offs. Manage phones and emails to assist customers with orders and questions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility; ensure parts are organized and properly stored. Qualifications
1–2 years of receiving and shipping experience preferred. 1–2 years of mechanical experience in the trucking industry (automotive or diesel) preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent customer experience skills – phone calls/email communication. Proficient Microsoft Office and computer skills preferred. Familiarity with data entry systems. Working knowledge of hand tools required. Ability to operate machinery/equipment properly and efficiently. Valid driver’s license. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job. Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete a Penske employment application and reference verification. Physical Requirements
Lifting and/or moving up to 75 lbs (12 kg) occasionally. Required to stand, walk, sit, touch, handle, and reach with hands and arms. Read, communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze information.
