Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours are 3:00PM - 11:00PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $18.50/hr.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture, etc.
Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio‑hazard materials.
Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
Reports any repairs to maintenance.
Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS.
Relevant Experience
Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.

Minimum Salary (Hourly Rate): 18.50
Maximum Salary (Hourly Rate): 27.58
