Facilities Lead – GM Performance Power Units

Job Summary:
The Facilities Lead oversees day‑to‑day facility operations, maintenance activities, and staff coordination to ensure all buildings, equipment, and infrastructure run safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role manages technicians and custodial staff, supports preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinates vendors, and maintains facility systems compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily facility maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of repairs and service requests.
Plan and coordinate resources, including personnel, tools, inventory, and equipment, to support smooth operations.
Maintain all building systems—including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, gas, water, and mechanical infrastructure—to ensure safe and reliable performance.
Conduct routine facility inspections and ensure all issues are documented and resolved promptly.
Ensure OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards are consistently followed.
Oversee LO/TO procedures, safety checks, and proper use of PPE.
Ensure all required inspections are completed (fire suppression, alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, backflow valves, etc.).
Identify and implement improvements to facility safety, cleanliness, and workflow efficiency.
Lead, train, and mentor facility technicians, coordinators, and custodial staff.
Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and support team development.
Partner with HR on staffing, scheduling, development, and employee relations.
Promote a positive, safety‑driven culture across the Facilities team.
Support maintenance and operation of HVAC units, electrical distribution equipment, compressed air systems, and critical industrial infrastructure.
Ensure safe operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, order pickers, and other facility equipment.
Maintain tools, supplies, spare parts, and facility inventories to support ongoing operations.
Coordinate with contractors for repairs, specialized work, and ongoing service agreements.
Review proposals, track work progress, and ensure service quality meets organizational standards.
Lead facility improvement projects, renovations, utility upgrades, and capital equipment installations or removals.
Manage utility monitoring and support cost‑saving initiatives.
Ensure facility cleanliness, waste management, recycling, and grounds upkeep.
Manage office/space allocations and support setup for company events, orientations, or meetings.
Use CMMS or facility management software to manage work orders, asset records, inspections, and documentation.
Provide daily operational reporting and elevate critical issues as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
BS/BA in Facility Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of facility management or industrial maintenance experience.
Strong knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and safety systems.
Experience supervising maintenance or facilities staff.
Ability to drive safety, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skilled in using CMMS platforms, maintenance planning, and workflow coordination.
Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and building plans.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Experience with forklifts, lifts, and industrial equipment.
Understanding of OSHA and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of facilities, industrial maintenance, or plant operations experience.
Relevant certifications (CFM, HVAC, electrical, or safety).
Start‑up experience in an industrial environment.
