Introduction/Overview We are seeking a results-driven and experienced
Energy Project Manager
to lead and grow multidisciplinary energy initiatives across sectors such as renewables, decarbonization, energy efficiency, and fossil fuels. This position plays a critical role in shaping client relationships, managing technical teams, and delivering comprehensive engineering solutions in line with evolving energy strategies.
This is an ideal role for an engineering professional with at least
10 years of experience in energy markets , strong technical knowledge, and proven business development capabilities. The selected candidate will oversee the entire project lifecycle from strategy and design to implementation and stakeholder engagement while serving as a mentor and subject matter leader across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Technical & Market Leadership:
Actively contribute to sales and business development initiatives to grow the energy market footprint.
Serve as a
technical advisor
for engineering teams and clients, offering deep insight into energy industry practices and innovations.
Stay ahead of emerging energy trends and incorporate them into project planning and execution.
Participate in strategic planning efforts to drive market growth and service innovation.
Project Management & Delivery:
Define and deliver project objectives related to
scope, schedule, and budget .
Lead the selection and coordination of multidisciplinary project teams.
Oversee workflow planning for maximum team efficiency and profitability.
Manage technical deliverables, contractual documentation, change orders, and billing processes.
Represent the firm in client meetings, public hearings, and industry events.
Client Engagement:
Develop and maintain strong, diverse relationships with both
regional and national energy clients
and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).
Ensure high standards of client satisfaction through proactive communication, issue resolution, and delivery excellence.
Understand and align project strategies with the client's business goals.
Staff Development & Oversight:
Mentor and supervise direct reports, aligning their goals with team and company performance objectives.
Coordinate workload across teams to ensure seamless internal and external service delivery.
Manage subconsultants and internal stakeholders to maintain quality and budget adherence.
Required Skills and Expertise Experience:
10+ years of experience managing projects in the energy field or on energy-related initiatives.
Demonstrated experience with
national and regional energy clients , including ESCOs.
Hands-on background in energy project development, implementation, and team leadership.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Deep understanding of civil engineering principles applied in energy-focused projects.
Ability to translate technical challenges into business-aligned solutions.
Professional Attributes:
Excellent communication, coordination, and team-building skills.
Ability to influence, mentor, and lead across functional departments and market verticals.
Strong project documentation and reporting discipline.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an
ABET-accredited engineering program
or equivalent technical training and experience.

Professional Engineer (PE)

CEM (Certified Energy Manager)
or
PMP (Project Management Professional)
certification.
Energy experience, including

Experience with
