What You’ll Do
Regularly communicate, interact and coordinate with internal and external customers
Answer inbound calls from customers for dispatching and to obtain trucking rates for incoming/outgoing shipments
Communicate with truck drivers through computer software, cell phones or two‑way radios
Manage scheduling of shipments and notify departments or customers of arrival/pickup dates
Delivery scheduling and communicating with drivers while maintaining excellent customer service
Determine efficient and safe routing methods of transportation
Keep yards updated with schedule changes
Ability to determine correct truck and trailer to service customers
Monitor drivers through Lytx and coach when incidents are reported
Supervise truck maintenance and DOT logs while ensuring that proper equipment is available
Responsible for problem resolution and monthly DOT meeting
Report monthly mileage for IFTA and UCR Reports
Reconcile weekly fuel receipts report
Schedule and coordinate maintenance with lease partners
Looks at opportunities to utilize alternate resource/ locations to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and minimize costs
What You’ll Need
Minimum 5 years' experience
DOT Manual compliance and regulations knowledge
Prior DOT and dispatching experience preferred
Knowledge Verifiable tractor/trailer experience (prefer flat‑bed over‑the‑road driving experience)
Ability to prioritize and multitask responsibilities daily
Ability to adapt quickly to fluid transportation circumstances
Can multi‑task between computers, phones, and loading trucks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Exceptional customer service skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Your Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in operations, logistics, business, or related field.
