Registered Veterinary Technician – Emergency (Swing Shift)
Compensation:
$25–$30 per hour, plus $5 swing shift differential
Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Roseville is seeking a dedicated
Swing Shift Registered Veterinary Technician
to join our Emergency team.
About the Role: As an RVT in our Emergency Department, you will:
Triage and stabilize incoming emergency patients efficiently and accurately
Assist veterinarians in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures
Obtain, process, and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, fluid, and cytology
Perform and assist with radiographs, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities for emergency assessment
Administer, monitor, and recover patients under sedation and anesthesia, including emergency interventions
Assist with emergency surgical procedures and minor surgeries as needed
Provide compassionate client communication in high-stress situations, including explaining procedures, updates, and patient status
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and ensure proper infection control and safety protocols are followed
Schedule:
Swing Shift
Sunday – Wednesday
4/10s (Four 10-hour shifts per week)

Qualifications:
Current and valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in the state of California
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician in an emergency setting
Proficiency in laboratory procedures, imaging, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance
Commitment to collaborating with a multidisciplinary veterinary team
Ability to work swing shifts and handle high-stress situations professionally
